Meandering Pavilion

Measuring Pavilion is my work from the first semester of my senior year. I have participated in the Sino French Contemporary Architecture Exhibition （Exhibition d'Architecture Contemporaine Franco Chinoise ） .Exhibited at Zhejiang Art Museum from 29/03/2024 to 05/05/2024.
In the initial stage of the project, we studied wooden structures and created a new unit by studying hinge connections and umbrella structures, combining motion structures with Weiya's umbrella structure variants.
After having the unit structure, we copied it and connected it with bolts to form a huge wooden building device with a span of 14 meters. And through mechanical testing, its connection method and component dimensions were modified.
After clarifying the structure and establishing a model, we produced a blueprint and, with the support of the school, turned it into a practical project. After the school site is built, we will dismantle it into units and transport it to the venue for reconstruction.
The exhibition board of the work still exists in the display cabinet of the Architecture and Art Building of China Academy of Art.
After completing the installation, we expanded its scale to the building scale. Created the Meandering Theater. The wooden unit was applied to the columns and ceiling of the theater, and the structure was modified according to the scale changes to make it more suitable for the large building scale.
